Problem

With more than 40 existing intranet sites and tools that do not meet the needs of team members to find information, this life sciences company recognized the need for one global intranet and an enterprise search tool.

Knowledge is one of the business’s core competencies, yet most knowledge is currently confined within individual project teams and siloed repositories. There are no clear pathways for team members within the company to discover and build upon existing information, tools, and resources from other areas of the business.

Solution

Gathered key insights to create global intranet and search solutions and collaborated closely with this company’s team members to ensure future changes fit into their ways of working.

By designing for all regions, divisions, and seniority levels, the new intranet and search tools will inspire the entire company toward collaboration and growth. I restructured the information architecture of the intranet navigation and created wireframes for key site pages.

Retrospective

Lots of internal discussions and process are left out of this case study out of courtesy – reach out for more info!

When I joined the project, I found myself inserted into the midst of an ongoing effort, with extensive research already underway. It became imperative for me to swiftly acquaint myself with the existing findings, understand the project's objectives, and familiarize myself with the collaborative dynamics between my team and the client. In navigating this environment, I quickly realized the paramount significance of adaptability, a quality that proved indispensable for effective integration and contribution to the project.
